Monster Makes: Where Little Hands Create Big Things

This brand new show Monster Makes from Terrific Television premiered on CBeebies March 16th.

Bursting with colour, comedy, and creativity, this dynamic and engaging preschool series from Terrific Television invites little ones into a world of making and fun.

At the heart of it all is Murphi, a funny, furry, and riotously inventive monster, and his human friend Rebecca(Rebecca Keatley – much-loved CBeebies anchor). Together, they show preschoolers that with a little imagination, anyone can be a maker!

With its mix of fun characters, laugh-out-loud comedy and hands-on making, the show sparks imaginative play, fuels creative confidence, and encourages kids to explore their ideas in joyful, messy, monster-sized ways.

Designed to inspire a new generation of young makers, the series blends live action, puppetry and CGI animation in a visually distinctive format that celebrates reuse and hands-on creativity. Each episode also includes Crafted physical sets and real-world “makes”, encouraging children at home to use materials they have available to make something new.

Terrific Television worked with A Productions, combining bold format innovation with high-end children’s production expertise to realise Murphi’s unique dual existence, part puppet, part CGI creation.

Since launch, Monster Makes has delivered an excellent linear performance on CBeebies, alongside standout VOD results on BBC iPlayer. The brand is also rapidly expanding beyond broadcast, with its YouTube channel gaining significant traction and building a fast-growing international audience, creating clear opportunities across digital, consumer products and licensing.
